However, everyday I watch as the children of parent s that have one child after the other out of wedlock bring their children in to my clinic because the STATE MANDATES that they get their blood taken for a POSSIBLE problem. They are not even sick and their parents are told by the STATE that they MUST be seen to prevent a possible illness. That's how government-run healthcare will be for the ones that LIE AND DO NOT WORK.
Here's the kicker....my husband's a doctor.

People think that doctor's are rich but they're not if they are honest and hard working. THere are lots of "grey" ways for doctors to increase what they charge their patients but honest ones don't do it. So, why should the "LIARS" of our country be treated with such special handling? Like Obama or any other politician?

@xXMafiaProductionsXx First off I'm pretty sure George Washington never blatantly lied to Americans like Obama has. Second he may not have put us in debt, but he sure as hell made it worse. It's really simple, when you are running out of money, stop spending it. If you want to stimulate the economy, don't just throw a bunch of money at it, cut back on taxes and lift the burdens on business so they can hire people. Raising taxes during a time like this? And Obamacare is just a joke.

@Timatocheese Oh and one more thing. I suggest you look into the Massachusetts universal healthcare system. It is a small model of what our national healthcare will be like. And yes all the same problems that the Canadian system has are all there. And there is talk that Massachusetts will be going to a single payer system now. Yes this healthcare is a huge leap towards socialism. Was there ever a socialist government that actually worked?

@Timatocheese Go read some classical economists and they'll highly beg to differ. John Keynes for one, the man who's ideologies brought the US out of the great Depression. In order to counteract a recession spending must be increased and put into the economy. In fact, cutting back taxes doesn't really help much at all either. Raising them, I'll admit, is un-needed but dropping them will only give the government less money to put back into the economy. Again, go read Keynes.

@Timatocheese Just because it is a push in a slightly socialist direction does not mean that the US is becoming a communist state which is something people can't seem to grasp. Socialism does not equal communism and one step in a socialist direction will not kill your entire country. You say has any socialist country ever worked, well has any country with universal healthcare ever failed to provide said healthcare? The current US system is flawed, majorly flawed, and Obama is trying to fix it.

@xXMafiaProductionsXx Taking over our nation's healthcare, mortgage, and auto industries, and student loans is not a "slight" step towards socialism. Communism is just one flavor of socialism, the main common denominator between socialism and fascism, communism, etc. is massive government. And yes even your own country of Canada has failed to give people the proper healthcare they require. A number of Canadians come to the US just so they can get the care that Canada cannot provide.

@Timatocheese Is our current system flawed? Yes. Is Obamacare the answer? No. We have the best healthcare in the world but not for long if we follow through with Obamacare. I'm pretty sure we could come up with a better way to maintain our current system but make it much better than it currently is. We want everyone to have healthcare, but there is no realistic way for us to do that and sustain it at the same time. Unless we drastically lower our standards and give EVERYONE crappy healthcare.

@xXMafiaProductionsXx I doubt it was Keynes' ideas that brought us out of the Great Depression. It seems as though it was actually WWII that gave us the out we needed to thrive once again. Europe was fighting the war and needed weapons/equipment. We started making the things they needed and sold them to our allies for a profit. It was simply a case of supply and demand, we had the supply and they had the demand. By the time we entered the war we were largely out of the depression.

@Timatocheese thank you for proving my point. I said it was Keynes' IDEAS not Keynes. His concept was that spending would swing the economy back. Spending money on WWII brought the economy back into a boom, just as Keynes said it would. This entirely counteracts your concept that Obama needs to stop spending.

@xXMafiaProductionsXx Did you even read my comment? I did say keynes' ideas. And once again it was not "the new deal" (government spending) that got us out of the depression, if anything it made it worse, or just delayed the inevitable. For example, it's fair to say the stimulus attempts have simply stopped the fall of the economy but hasn't done much to restore it. Here is a pretty good read on the subject. NM I guess it won't let me insert a URL. Thats pretty lame.
