@Jwall7007 Comparing defenses of of the SEC to the Pac 10 is like comparing NFL to Pee Wee. If SEC defences played against PAC 10 offenses their stats would be out the roof. If PAC 10 defenses played in the SEC they would not be in the top 100. Also Ingram had to split playing time with the 2nd best running back in the nation, Trent Richardson. Both had 100+ yds against Texas' supposed #2 run defense. PAC 10 teams would have a hard time beating Kentucky let alone a top SEC team.

Ingram - 271 carries for 1658, and 17 TD's, 6.1 yds/avg
Gerhart - 343 carries for 1871 yards, and 27 Td's, 5.5 yds/avg
I'm sure if Ingram had the same amount of touches as Gerhart, instead of sharing snaps with that monster that is Trent Richardson, his Heisman would not be questioned.
But yeah, Gerhart is sick, I hope he can put it together in the NFL.

@ThaCBHatchetClan All I am saying is that with the exception of USC the Pac10 plays touch football. If Oregon and Stanford are the top of the Pac10 it is because USC has started plaing touch also. For real smash mouth football it is the SEC and Oklahoma and Texas.

@GND3153 really? while the Pac-10 may have "only" had 4 teams finish in the top 25 last season, every one of those teams except Washington State was a very solid team, including 7 bowl teams. The only conference in the country with a tougher group of teams is the SEC. So if your a big 12 or big 10 fan, get out.

@GND3153 Oklahoma and Texas do not belong in the same sentence as smashmouth football. Did you even watch the video? Gerhart was pummeling people harder than any big 12 linebacker could. Oklahoma is one of the softest teams in college football, Texas is a tough smashmouth team, but certainly no more than any Pac-10 team.

@gsh915 I agree that Gerhart was pummeling people. The point I was trying to make is that SEC defenses are stronger than the people he was pummeling. If you are playing in the PAC10 it a whole easier to run over people than it is in the SEC. I am not a Big 12 or Big 10 Fan. But you have to admit that Texas and Oklahoma are the only 2 teams that even attempt to play defense in the Big 12.

@gsh915 The PAC10 had 4 top 25 teams was because they played a PAC10 schedule. I put the PAC10 on about the same level as the Big East.. Cincinnati was a "TOP 25" team and we all saw what Florida did with them. The PAC10 top 25 teams would face the same fate. Auburn, a middle of the pack SEC team, would go undefeated in the PAC10.

@GND3153 That's a joke. If you seriously think that, you need to actually WATCH some Pac-10 football.
I'm not denying that the SEC is the premier CFB conference, but the Pac-10 is a clear cut second. The Big 12 is all Texas, nobody else can compete.
And what do you mean a "Pac-10 schedule"? THe Pac-10 is notorious for playing the toughest non conference schedule in the country. In addition to that, they're conference schedule is the 2nd toughest in CFB.

@GND3153 And one more thing, how can you put the Pac-10 on the same level as the Big East? Pitt, the Big East projected champ, couldn't even beat Utah. The Pac-10 has 8 teams that are bowl caliber teams IN ANY CONFERENCE. If your going to compare the Pac-10 to the Big East, than the Big 12 must be no better than the MAC and the Big 10 no better than the WAC.
